ARUSHA — Cybersecurity experts have assured the Government that public service records and systems are protected to the highest professional standards, while emphasizing the need for sustained investment in modern technologies to counter the rising wave of global cyber threats.

Speaking at the company’s exhibition booth during the Sixth e-Government Authority (eGA) Conference taking place at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), Sophos representative Rajkumar Popat said the firm supports the efforts of the e-Government Authority (eGA) in strengthening digital transformation and safeguarding sensitive government information.

He explained that the solutions offered include firewall protection, endpoint management, 24-hour threat monitoring, and rapid incident response to cyberattacks.

Popat warned that the growing use of artificial intelligence has accelerated the development of cyber threats—particularly ransomware—making it essential for public institutions to reinforce their information security systems.

Meanwhile, Infogear Technology representative Eleidina Ngowi said the company is focused on strengthening ICT infrastructure through advanced cybersecurity and digital communication solutions for both public and private institutions.

She noted that the company has introduced video communication systems, institutional training platforms, and network protection devices designed to shield systems from external threats.

Ngowi added that these services are complemented by continuous professional support to ensure institutional systems remain secure and efficient.

The experts emphasized that collaboration between the private sector and government is a critical pillar in protecting digital infrastructure, improving service delivery to citizens, and strengthening public trust in government technology systems.

The three-day conference is expected to advance Tanzania’s digital transformation agenda by establishing robust strategies for information security and the sustainability of e-government services.

Ends.
