ZARA TOURS SHINES AGAIN AT SERENGETI AWARDS, EXTENDING ITS STREAK OF INTERNATIONAL HONOURS
By Joseph Ngilisho – Arusha
Moshi-based tourism company Zara Tours has once again affirmed its leadership in Tanzania’s tourism industry after clinching another prestigious accolade at the Serengeti Awards, continuing a remarkable run of honours the company has earned almost every year.
The award was among 51 accolades presented during a high-profile Serengeti Awards gala held late last night at the Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, an event that brought together key tourism stakeholders from Tanzania and abroad.
The Guest of Honour, Minister for Finance Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, commended the tourism sector for its vital role in driving national economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and promoting Tanzania on the global stage.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Zara Tours Director, Ms. Zainabu Ansell said the achievement reflects hard work, strong team spirit, and close cooperation between the government and private sector stakeholders—particularly in the protection and development of national attractions such as Mount Kilimanjaro.
“The visible success of Mount Kilimanjaro is clear evidence of the tremendous work carried out by the government in partnership with tourism stakeholders,” said Ms. Zainabu. “The mountain’s environment has improved significantly, services have been enhanced, and security has greatly increased—offering visitors a truly exceptional experience.”
She added that these improvements have continued to elevate Mount Kilimanjaro as a global icon, positioning Tanzania as one of the leading destinations for mountain tourism in Africa and worldwide.
According to the director, the growing number of climbers on Mount Kilimanjaro has significantly boosted the tourism sector and increased national revenue, with companies such as Zara Tours playing a critical role in ensuring visitors receive world-class services.
“I am extremely proud of this achievement. Today is a day to celebrate how far we have come,” she emphasized. “My team and I are fully committed to further raising professional standards, embracing innovation, and attracting even more visitors to experience the adventure of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.”
Ms. Zainabu reaffirmed Zara Tours’ commitment to remain a close partner of the government in promoting sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, and positioning Tanzania prominently on international tourism platforms.
The Serengeti Awards aim to recognize and honour institutions, companies, and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the growth and development of Tanzania’s tourism industry.
