ZARA MAKES HISTORY WITH BACK-TO-BACK AFRICAN TOURISM AWARD

Tanzania-based tour operator Zara Tanzania Adventures has made history after winning the Africa’s Leading Adventure Tour Operator 2026 award at the World Travel Awards – Africa for the second consecutive year.The latest recognition comes a year after Zara first claimed the prestigious title in 2025, further cementing its position among Africa’s leading adventure tourism operators.
The award recognises the company’s contribution to delivering high-quality tourism experiences, promoting responsible tourism and involving local communities in tourism-related activities.
Zara Tanzania Adventures operates adventure tourism experiences across Tanzania, including mountain trekking on Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, as well as wildlife safaris in the Serengeti National Park and other destinations across the country.
Speaking after the announcement of the award, Zara Tanzania Adventures Managing Director Zainab Ansell described the recognition as a significant achievement for the company, its employees, partners, clients and communities involved in its operations.
“This consecutive recognition is a proud moment for the Zara team, our partners, our guests and the communities around us who make every journey possible. From Tanzania to Africa—Adventure Without Limits,” Ms Ansell said.
She said the award would further motivate the company to continue improving its services and ensuring that visitors to Tanzania enjoy memorable and distinctive experiences.
According to Zara, the back-to-back victory also highlights Tanzania’s growing prominence in the global adventure tourism market, particularly through iconic attractions such as Mount Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti.
Beyond mountain climbing and wildlife safaris, the company has continued to promote responsible and sustainable tourism, while supporting the participation of local communities in the tourism value chain.
From the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro to the vast plains of the Serengeti, Zara Tanzania Adventures has retained its position as Africa’s Leading Adventure Tour Operator for the second consecutive year.
