Renowned German dental specialist, Dr. Ursula Elizabeth, is expected to arrive in Tanzania for a special humanitarian mission aimed at providing free oral healthcare services and community education through the Dento Outreach Program.
During her visit, Dr. Ursula Elizabeth will tour several locations in the Arusha Region, including Arusha Prison, elderly care centers, schools, and vulnerable community groups such as orphanages. She will offer free dental consultations, treatment services, and oral health education to residents.
The outreach program seeks to raise public awareness about the importance of oral hygiene, preventive dental care, and proper oral health practices, while also extending professional dental services to communities that often face challenges in accessing specialized care.
In addition to providing healthcare services, Dr. Ursula Elizabeth, in collaboration with her team and Arumeru West Member of Parliament, Dr. Johannes Lukumay, is expected to introduce various professional development and training opportunities for young people and oral health practitioners in Tanzania.
Through this partnership, some Tanzanian dental professionals are anticipated to secure advanced training opportunities in Germany, while others may benefit from employment prospects within the German healthcare sector.
The initiative is being implemented in partnership with Dento Outreach, with the objective of strengthening oral healthcare services in Tanzania and enhancing the capacity of local professionals through knowledge exchange with international experts.
Stakeholders in the health sector have described Dr. Ursula Elizabeth’s visit as a significant step toward improving oral healthcare services in the country, particularly in Arumeru West Constituency, where some residents have been affected by dental complications associated with high fluoride levels in drinking water.
Furthermore, the visit is expected to open new avenues for international cooperation in training, employment, and healthcare service delivery, contributing to the overall advancement of oral health services in Tanzania.
