 TANZANIA STRENGTHENS HEALTH DIPLOMACY AS TOP OFFICIALS JOIN WHO ASSEMBLY IN GENEVA

The Minister for Health, Mohamed Omary Mchengerwa, together with the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and HIV/AIDS, Dr. Johannes Lembulung Lukumay, have received a high-level briefing from Ambassador Dr. Abdalah Saleh Possi ahead of their participation in the World Health Organization (World Health Organization) General Assembly taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 17 to May 23, 2026.

The global health gathering brings together senior health leaders from around the world to deliberate on key public health priorities, including disease control, health system strengthening, and the promotion of universal well-being.

Tanzania’s delegation is actively participating in the discussions, with a focus on safeguarding and advancing the country’s health interests within the international arena, while contributing to global efforts aimed at improving health outcomes worldwide.
