Arumeru West Member of Parliament, Johannes Lembulung Lukumay, has held high-level discussions with the Minister of State in the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), Riziki Silas Shemdoe, over critical infrastructure challenges affecting communities in the constituency.

During the meeting, MP Lukumay strongly raised concerns regarding the poor state of roads and bridges in several rural areas of Arumeru West, noting that the situation continues to hinder transportation, trade, and access to essential social services.

He explained that inadequate infrastructure has negatively impacted economic activities, particularly for farmers and small-scale traders who depend heavily on reliable road networks to transport agricultural produce and conduct daily business operations.

Among the key projects presented to the minister were:

Construction of the 12-kilometre Losinoni Juu–Kisimiri road

Construction of the Nduruma River Bridge in Nduruma Ward

Rehabilitation and construction works at the Enjikaka gully in Oljoro Ward

MP Lukumay emphasized that implementation of the projects would significantly improve connectivity, boost local economic growth, and enhance the livelihoods of residents across Arumeru West Constituency.

In response, Minister Shemdoe acknowledged the concerns raised and assured the legislator that the government would work on the matters in line with national priorities aimed at strengthening infrastructure and improving public services across the country.
